Brotherhood of Jesus of Nazareth
San Sebastián has celebrated Holy Week processions for centuries. As early as the 16th century, they wound through the streets of the Old Town, and with the city’s growth and the construction of the Parish of The Good Shepherd, the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth was founded there in 1927.
With the passage of time and social changes, these processions ceased in the 1970s. Today, almost a hundred years after that first procession, a group of San Sebastián residents want to revive them.
This isn’t about starting from scratch or inventing anything new, but rather about reactivating a city tradition from a contemporary, open, and participatory perspective. We believe that Holy Week can once again be a space for encounter, an expression of faith, and a celebration of popular culture, experienced with simplicity and closeness.
With this enthusiasm, the Brotherhood of Jesus of Nazareth, based at the Parish of The Good Shepherd, will be revived in 2026 to organize the procession that will travel through the main streets of San Sebastián every Good Friday.
The invitation is open to everyone who wants to participate, collaborate, or simply be part of this shared project: to experience Holy Week actively and visibly, sharing a community experience that connects past, present, and future.
The procession will take place on Good Friday, April 3, at 8:30 p.m. Although the first steps have been taken, much remains to be prepared. Therefore, we invite the people of San Sebastián to join us and contribute their time, ideas, and enthusiasm.

“I am the good shepherd. As the Father knows me and I know the Father, in the same way I know my sheep and they know me. And I am willing to die for them.”

HELP US
The temple is God’s house and ours. Let’s collaborate to keep it worthy. If you wish to collaborate in the conservation of the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd of San Sebastian or in its activities, make a donation.
Self-financing is the challenge that we Catholics take on, because the maintenance of our community is in our hands. This is done through subscription, which is convenient, stable and deducts taxes in the Income Tax Return.
